Anyone had any luck getting the graphics working, maybe on the RTM version? Vista had a basic XDDM driver but this does not exist on Windows 7 RC. I tried the Vista driver but no luck. It's a shame because although Vista ran pretty slow but Windows 7 seems to be a lot quicker. |

just a thought, sony's equivalent pricy bit was the Vaio VGN-T2XRP/S and was the "same as" P7010 with exception of network controller chip: fuji=realtek while sony=intel
although source remains lads at intel, sony may post w7 download update before fujitsu for i855gme chipset notes |

What didn't work? I used the Vista driver on Win7 RC and it worked fine for me on my earlier P5000-era machine, which has the same 855GME.

as posted above by "tmt"...
pls view / download:
http://sgwindowsgroup.org/forums/t/2949.aspx AND scroll to last post and click on hyperlink
i would download to desktop, burn cd and when win7 (during set-up) prompts for "missing" driver, remove win7 disk and insert "new" driver disk and click "next"...
there are also other methods...
important, this driver is used when your notebook has intel i852/855gme chipset with on-board graphics accelerator (intel) as part of chipset, should you have i855gme plus separate mini graphics card (ie: ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 or nVidia GeForce 5200 Go) you may try http://www.laptopvideo2go.com for specific vista driver "used in addition to intel chipset vista driver"...
be informed laptopvideo2go website has backgound script IE8 does not like - view with IE7 or other browser...
of course aerogloss is toast and you may have to try several times or even reformat your hdd/ssd and do fresh install after several failed attempts.
lastly first hyperlink is singapore win forum and legit - second hyperlink is also legit and intended for technically minded users - as long as you do not corrupt your notebook mobo bios, by some accident, you can try these downloads for fujitsu & "other" venerable notebooks to attempt to gain benefit from win7 os - worse case is reformatting hdd several times...

When I ran the "windows 7 upgrade advisor" it also complained that the chipset would not support Aero, but I understood that meant I could still use Windows 7 but only without Aero. Did I understand incorrectly? Will Windows 7 not work at all on a P7010? |

i believe your p7010 is intel 80855gme chipset with integrated graphics accelerator (and shared system/ram/memory)
yes your hardware will support windows 7 os in automatically defaulted "non-aerogloss" screen imaging
IF while loading w7 disk, when "no driver found" appears, open dvd tray, and load your "855gme driver file" cd, than replace with w7 disk and continue w7 file loading/setup
i would observe minimum system ram config as 2.0gb not 1.0gb
also clean install / re-formatted hdd is prefered over "up grade install" (w7 calls it "custom install")
you may have to attempt driver loading 2-3 times... |

Hi All
I've got the P7010 and tried to install Win7 Pro. The resolution comes up as 1024 x 768 - and the display device is set to Standard VGA Graphics Adapter.
Having checked the various links suggested in this thread, and the drivers in the sgwindows link (which simply BSODed when forced install) - it looks like there's no working solution, until Intel produces Win 7 drivers.
Note - I assume the sgwindows link supplies the Vista drivers that is suggested by tmnt?
Thanks

IMMEDIATELY after installing Windows 7 Pro, without any other steps (activation, updating drivers, etc.) I STRICTLY followed the instructions posted here: http://www.groundstate.net/855GMWin7.html. Now everything works fine for my P7010! ... |
